Spring / Summer News Round-Up

Nia Knott

What a few months it has been! We launched on March 1st this year and it's been a bit of a whirlwind ever since. March as predicted was quite quiet, but as the weather warmed up so did things for us.

Our small group day tours are scheduled to depart from Cardiff almost every day of the week. So far we have been amazed and so pleased to welcome guests from France, Spain, Wales, England, Netherlands, China, India, Russia, Canada, Australia and USA.

Here's a round up month-by-month of the highlights of our first season:

March

March was so cold in Wales this year! We were so lucky to have lots of snow fall on the Brecon Beacons and we made the most of every hiking opportunity. It was a great month for exploring moody castles, and spending stormy days by the sea. We also had a wonderful day on the River Valley tour with travel blogger Explore with Ed

April

Finally some warm weather and the Spring flowers started to emerge on the coast. With lots of water still around this was a great month to explore waterfall country. We launched our Summer Sundowner Special Tour to make the most of lighter evenings on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast.

May

Wales bloomed during May! The Beach Tour was really popular this month, and we were lucky enough to spot porpoises, seals, choughs & peregrine falcons several times from the coast. We had some really interesting interviewees for our Real Wales, Real People blog series - and we have several more lined up for the near future.

June

June was really busy with several tours going out each week. Highs, Lows & Falls, and the Beach Tour were most popular this month, though no two days were ever the same! The Spanish section of our website went live (massive thanks to the lovely Carmen at 2mas1 Traducciones) and we hosted a Summer Sundowner Special tour for a lovely group of welsh bloggers - you can read their reviews here:

July

Visitors to Wales have been treated to the very best of Welsh weather this month. We've enjoyed welcoming more families with the start of the summer holidays and putting together a few personalised tours, including a perfect trip out west in Pembrokeshire. We released new dates for Into the West - our 3-day Pembrokeshire tour, and announced the first date for our landscape photography tour in conjunction with Mari Owen

We've had an amazing season so far and Wales hasn't failed to impress any of our guests - no matter the weather! We've got more exciting developments over the coming months, so make sure you're connected with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for our announcements.
